Which credit card do rich people use?

Long Angle, a free, peer-led community for high-net-worth individuals (minimum net worth US$3 million) published a 2026 High-Net-Worth Financial Products review. The 28 page PDF is linked below.

Some interesting insights I took away from the report:

  • The two most popular cards for HNW households were the American Express Platinum Card and the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, with about 30% usage among respondents.
  • However, 90% of Amazon Prime Visa card users recommended the no-annual fee card, beating out the ultra-premium American Express Platinum Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve
  • Fidelity, Vanguard, and Schwab were the top recommended brokerage accounts
  • 68% of respondents hold Vanguard funds, but only 28% have a Vanguard account

Even households worth $25 million and more carried the Amazon Prime Visa card:

My favorite brokerages to recommend? Schwab, Fidelity, and Vanguard. The same ones the 1% use 🙂

HNW Households are split between the S&P 500 and the total US stock market:

The most popular net worth tracking app: a spreadsheet, either Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. Monarch Money is also in there, which I use for spending tracking, not net worth tracking. I use Kubera for net worth tracking.

Interestingly umbrella insurance increases with each net worth bracket, but becomes less of a percentage of net worth.
